Hopefully everyone who saw Monday’s post was able to take a few minutes to check out Miss Gina’s Chloe + Isabel site. If you have not yet had a chance, be sure to check it out herenow! Today’s featured C+I piece is this gorgeous Bora Bora cuff. How pretty are these colors!? And the geometric shaped stones are so unique! I’m not usually one to wear many bracelets as I rarely find any that fit my wrists well, but cuffs are great because I’m able to adjust them to fit just right. Plus, stacking a few of this exact cuff, or mixing & matching (maybe with this & this or these) leads to one adorable arm party. It’s fun to keep things from being too matchy-matchy, so intermixing various stones or even metal tones really makes it interesting.

When putting my look together, I wanted to the vivid colors of the gemstones to really pop so I built my outfit from the ground up. These blue suede pumps were a STEAL during Piperlime’s last few weeks and I’m so glad I snagged them. They’re an instant brightener to even the simplest of outfits. Wanting to mesh casual and trendy together, I opted for my go-to slim boyfriends, a white tunic {got it last year during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale and picked up ‘this year’s’ version of it in 3 colors! Hello closet staple at only $28!}, and a soft leather bag. While I may not be able to rock this get-up in the office, the lightweight nature of the tunic and the destruction in the denim allow for it to be easily worn on a cooler summer evening.

Don’t forget that on Monday (8/3) my Chloe + Isabel Online Boutique opens for orders. Be sure to use Pop- Shop A Midwestern Mix for anything you order. Here are a few of my favorite pieces: one, two, three, four, five, six.

Shop the Look:
Denim / Tunic / Pumps (sold out, similar here & here) / Bag / Sunglasses / Cuff

Please tell me I am not the only one whose face {ok, entire body} is NOT a fan of 90% humidity for days on end?!? I get it, it’s the Midwest in the middle of Summer, but for the love! The heat is my favorite–give me 85* year-round and I’d be thrilled–however, the humidity is […]

Once of the quickest ways to build any kind of business/hobby, including a blog, is to collaborate with like-minded individuals. Being able to learn from and feed off of someone else’s creativity is inspiring in itself, but being able to share similar aspirations is even more so. When I first started A Midwestern Mix, I […]

I know not everyone is a follower of mine on Instagram {but if you want to, I can be found at @amidwesternmix} but I thought I would do a short post that would roundup some of my recent outfits and outings. Oooh, and you might notice that I may or may not have a slight […]

Ever since forever, Lilly Pulitzer has been the go-to for the vivid, bright, fun prints. It’s nearly impossible to have a blah day while wearing something Lilly because the bold patterns are an instant spirit-lifter. These 4″ Adie Shorts are no different. While this ‘Resort White Chasing Tail’ print is on the more mellow side […]

As I write this, tears are filling my eyes and I’m brought back to exactly where I was 9 years ago today. Everyone handles the loss of a loved one differently and for me, 7/17/06 will forever be a date that is burned into my head so vividly. Before that Monday, I had only experienced […]

White dresses can be intimidating. White tends to often be associated with all things bridal –Bachelorette Party dress & bridal showers & wedding gown–but as long as you steer clear of overly frilly frocks or obnoxiously lacey numbers, you’re great. The color really should be treated a summer {and winter for that matter} staple for EVERYONE! […]

With the heat index hovering around 100* for the next few days, flannel is probably one of the last materials you’re thinking about wearing…I can totally relate. MOST summer nights in the Midwest, though, cool off quite a bit once the sun goes down and a lightweight flannel is the perfect piece to cut the […]

I have to be honest, July 9th had been circled/highlighted/marked-in-bold for some time on my planner and in my phone. Sure it may seem like a random summer Thursday to almost everyone, but to those who think Nordstrom can do no wrong (insert hand-raising emoji here!), this day marks the start of their Anniversary EARLY […]

Much like my slower-than-most adoption of the midi skirt, my love for peplum tops has been nearly non-existent. Again I think it stems from my body type, but I’ve struggled over the past year(s) to find a version of the top that doesn’t look totally ridiculous on me or make my torso look even shorter. […]
