The print of this skirt caught my eye immediately and the soft cotton feel of it sold me, plus I’m a sucker for anything easy & breezy! Its tribal pattern gives it a fun, playful vibe while the red color takes it up a notch. Despite the ‘midi’ trend being something I adopted a bit later than most, I’m doing my part to catch-up as I’ve added a handful of midi skirts to my closet. This mid-calf length can be daunting as it can easily make your legs appear shorter (and much more stocky, in my case!) but the material, and a pattern, can make all the difference. Adding height to your stature with heels is a definite must!

To keep the outfit light for the afternoon I paired it with a plain v-neck, along with a pair of neutral stacked heels and my usual crossbody. To amp it up just a little bit I thew on my new Illesteva mirrored sunnies and called it a date! I love how the basic colors popped so much against the green Nebraska background. While this skirt is cotton, I can easily dress it up for work by adding a crisp white button-up and blush pumps, which makes it transitional from workday to weekend. As the weather {hopefully sooner rather than later} starts to cool down in the evenings, I will throw on a denim jacket and take this look right into the Fall!
