I have a major crush at the moment and it’s on the color navy. There are a few colors having big moments right now and this is definitely one of them! I love how it packs the same punch as black, being both neutral and strong, but also has a feminine edge that looks great on lighter, flowy pieces as well. Various shades of Oxblood, Army Green, and Mustard are all featured on my mood boards, but for some reason navy is really resonating with me right now. From the runway to street wear, navy is a trend that will be holding its own this season. Whether it’s a simple accessory like this hat or a head-to-toe monochromatic look seen here on Kate Middleton, you really can’t go wrong! Stocking up on a few basic foundation items in this flattering hue is a key way to work the color into your everyday life.

Without getting too trendy, I’ve got my eye on this, this, and this to break away from my normal palette and create a bit of interest in my daily look. Recently I picked up these ankleboots to pair with skinnys & a vest, and invested in {after debating for months} on a timeless Burberry quilted jacket. Both of these items will get lots of wear now that the weather is cooling down.

What colors are you loving right now!?

Who would’ve thought that flares would be the IT thing again!? This comeback is yet more proof of how trends repeat, and reinvent, themselves in a continuous cycle. {If only I would’ve kept some of mine from the past I could’ve saved myself some serious $$!} My legs are loving the freedom these high-waisted, loose-fitting […]

Growing up I attended a private school, until 5th grade, where uniforms were a requirement. Although at the time I despised wearing the same outfit as every other girl in class, I secretly enjoyed the plaid prints that adorned those dreaded knee-length skirts and ill-fitting jumpers. It is ironic to me that some of those […]

While this outfit may not be 50 Shades of grey, I am loving the way these 4 different shades and textures create a perfectly on-trend monochromatic look. This morning’s chill start made layering a must so I started my look with this over-sized mohair cardigan. Instead of going a more predictable route, I added grey skinnys, […]

Is it vest season!? Yeah, probably not quite yet, but sometimes the temperature on a given day makes you do crazy things. YOLO right!? 🙂 As my third and final featured piece fromThe Panachery Boutique, I may venture to say this vest is my favorite! Vests are super versatile and I love things that be […]

It’s fun to get dressed and put myself together, but on the weekends–Hello almost every Sunday afternoon–I like to take it down a notch. Or two, or three, but judge not lest you be judged. Am I right?! 😉 This past Sunday I co-hosted a Bridal Shower for my sister Haley in South Dakota, where […]

I’m a sucker for things that are feminine but not overly girly. This tunic from fellow Iowa State graduate Heidi Piper’s boutique The Panachery fits that bill perfectly in my mind. I can’t think of many things better than supporting a small business WHILE stocking my closet full of adorable pieces. Heidi is continuing to grow […]

I’m holding onto these last few warm days with all I have. Apparently I am one of the only people who isn’t wishing for Fall to get here quite yet because I’m seeing blanket scarves, boots, and turtlenecks all over my social media feeds! While I still can, I am wearing–and enjoying–as many summery prints […]

Work wear isn’t always my favorite thing and lately I’ve been on the struggle bus in the mornings when picking out my outfits for my 8-5. When the ‘I have nothing to wear’ bird is chirping loudly in my ear, I rely on a quick search on my Insta feed and Pinterest homepage to see […]
