I’m a sucker for things that are feminine but not overly girly. This tunic from fellow Iowa State graduate Heidi Piper’s boutique The Panachery fits that bill perfectly in my mind. I can’t think of many things better than supporting a small business WHILE stocking my closet full of adorable pieces. Heidi is continuing to grow her website inventory but also runs a store out of Farnam, Nebraska! When I came across this little gem she has created, I knew it would be dangerous. I’ll always love my go-to shops (Nordstrom, ASOS, etc.) but having a fun boutique option like The Panachery allows me to pick up unique options, from a limited inventory, that ensures few people will have the same item I do.

Tunics haven’t always been my cup of tea as I often struggled to pair the right bottoms with them and would feel as if my outfit looked sloppy. After a lot of trial & error,  I have a much better feel for how I like to see tunics styled on my body type. The navy base, subtle pink and white pattern, and the accentuated shoulders give this top just the right about of oompf to go perfectly with a simple pair of cuffed white skinnys and a neutral bootie. This outfit was perfect for Sunday brunch but I’m also looking forward to pairing the tunic with a pair of cigarette pants and pumps in the office.

Heidi is offering all A Midwestern Mix readers 15% off their purchase with codeMWM15 between now and Tuesday, September 22, and can ship to anywhere! Also, we are giving away a $20 gift card to the boutique to one lucky lady! To be eligible head over to Facebook and LIKE  The Panachery’s Facebook page, as well as follow myself (@amidwesternmix) and the boutique (@thepanacheryboutique) on Instagram!
