While this outfit may not be 50 Shades of grey, I am loving the way these 4 different shades and textures create a perfectly on-trend monochromatic look. This morning’s chill start made layering a must so I started my look with this over-sized mohair cardigan. Instead of going a more predictable route, I added grey skinnys, soft D’Orsay pumps, and my favorite v-neck tee. Trying for a casual yet put-together vibe, this combo worked just right for a leisurely date of coffee & pastries with the hubby followed by a quick stop at a local farm-to-market store near our house. The heels may not have been the most practical shoe choice but sometimes we have to sacrifice comfort for the sake of fashion! 🙂

This French Connection boyfriend sweater was a bit of a splurge last winter but proved to be a staple in the cold weather. I’ve already pulled it off my sweater shelf twice this season so I know it is in for another good run! Unfortunately it is pretty much sold-out but here are a few cardigans that I’m loving at the moment: one, two, & three. This v-neck is the best and I absolutely love dressing it up with a fun blazer and pants for an updated, office-appropriate outfit. Grey is such a versatile color and having a pair of denim in this neutral hue can give any basic pullover an instant upgrade. Next up in the world of monochromatic looks is trying to master navy on navy!
