Yesterday I turned 27. I know I’ve only been this new age just over 24 hours but I’m still not so sure how I feel about it. I do know I’m blessed to be an entire year older, something many won’t have have the opportunity to be. I’m also blessed to have the best husband, most loving family, health, and lots of happiness! So while I’m not so sure my skin is aging as gracefully
{damn those sessions in the tanning bed!} as I may have wanted and I may not even really know what I want to ‘be’ when I grow up, I realize that both of those things are ok. I’m me. I’ve made some mistakes during my 26th year but I’ve also grown tremendously as a person. I made a list last night of 27 things I want to focus, goals, etc. on in my 27th year. Some of them may seem a bit insignificant while others are pretty major. I’m not going to bore anyone with my full list, but instead wanted to share #2 and #7 🙂
#2 – Expect the best & refuse to settle. You deserve it.
#7 – Take Risks. Don’t let your fear of failure, or anyone else’s opinions, stop you from trying something new & creating your own path.

Happy Birthday to ME 🙂

Today I am being super basic and sharing some of my 10 favorite Black Friday sales as well as what items I’m adding to my cart or have already ordered. While I’ve always been a fan of shopping with my mom & sisters the day-after Thanksgiving {every single year since I was in 3rd grade!}, […]

Reaching outside my usual color palette of blacks, greys, creams, more black, and the some more grey, I thought this color added the perfect edge to my cozy knits collection. The light, icy blue tone works well for all different skin colors and brings a softness to the deeper shades of Fall and Winter. When […]

Sweatshirts are my jam. Am I wearing a bra underneath them? Maybe. Maybe not. But cute sweatshirts are even better because you can feel incredibly comfortable while not appearing like you just rolled out of bed. While I have graduated–for the most part–from wearing over-sized sports hoodies out in public, I cannot pass up a great ‘adult’ […]

We all have that girl, or group of girls, in our life that may not be related by blood but are totally part of our ‘family.’ While they may not be the first one(s) you think of when buying Christmas gifts, you inevitably wander through stores trying to find the perfect gift for them that has a […]

Whoever said wearing white after Labor Day was a faux-pas clearing didn’t realize how great it can make an outfit look when worn correctly! I haven’t always been brave when it comes to wearing white denim, regardless of the season, but after seeing Jennifer ofShopping Bags & Travel Bags {who I’ll be doing a super […]

Last night Interiors Joan & Associates hosted their 2nd Annual Spotlight on DesignShowcase at their adorable shop just off 132nd & Dodge in Omaha. Dressing for work during the week doesn’t have to be boring. Sure dress pants, suit jackets, and high necklines may not be your ideal go-to when putting together an outfit, but that doesn’t mean you can have a little fun with your 8-5 (or 7am-7pm) wardrobe! While I am lucky enough to work in an environment where […]

The trees in Nebraska are quickly losing their leaves and I’m already feeling a sense of sadness as some of the beautiful fall colors are being replaced with shades of brown. Yuck! When we first moved to Omaha, one of Kyle & I’s favorite things to do was go on long drives to discover new […]
