Sometimes we find pieces of clothing that are totally different than anything we own so we pass them by without much thought, even though they may be perfect for us. With my current wardrobe consisting of mostly neutral tones, lots of cowl necks & oversized tops, and distressed denim, I have been making a conscious effort to try and diversify the new items I purchase. That being said, if I find an inexpensive, comfy grey tee, I’m obviously going to have to add it to my closet next to the 10 others. 😉 Case in point: this tee that was just too perfect to pass up. In Nebraska, ‘Sweater Weather’ is about half the year so I am always keeping my eyes open for cute knit options. On my most recent visit to local-Omaha boutique Four Sisters, I spied this polka dotted sweater and without hesitation, {or trying it on} purchased it. I’m super-sensitive to wool/wool blends and was a bit nervous about it when I got home but I have been really surprised by how soft and cozy it actually is!

Getting back to dressing a little more seasonally-appropriate after my last post, I paired this fun sweater with the best black skinnys I have found this year and a simple kitten heel. To bring a punch to an otherwise basic color palette, I pulled this RM crossbody out from the back of my closet and loved the way it brightened everything up. I’ve recently worn the polka dot gem with wide-leg pants to the office and boyfriend jeans for brunch. Despite its bold pattern, it’s versatility is endless!

Long gone {but not forgotten} are my college days when I could’ve cared less what the weather was like outside when choosing my weekend attire. How I ever managed to walk up & down Welch Avenue in 4″ heels with snow/ice all over the ground is beyond me.  Often times I would even go without […]

It is no secret to anyone that a majority of the country is experiencing frigid temperatures and snow storm after snow storm. With the days constantly cloudy and no end in sight, I cannot help but crave SUN. I mean I’m in some need of massive quantities of Vitamin D! Who’s with me!? It’s like a continuous […]

When making a decision on new clothes, shoes, or an accessory I always try and put together three ways I will wear or utilize the piece in my head before I pull the trigger. Of course there are some times when I end up coming home with one-time-only items but I try to keep that […]

As you are easily able to see week after week, post after post, grey is my jam. I seriously have not come across a pair of grey denim or seen a grey sweater that I didn’t think needed to be added to my closet. It’s kind of ironic that I gravitate to this color so […]

First of all I want to thank everyone for all of the love on Wednesday’s post! Not sure if it was because of the more personal feel, or maybe the cute $28 sweaters, or {likely} Cassidy as my guest model, but the response was beyond amazing so THANK YOU! I’m definitely going to work on similar […]

Most of you know this, but for those who don’t, I grew up in a house full of girls. I am the oldest of 4 so my dad was vastly outnumbered; but don’t bother feeling sorry for him, he loved it. We were/are all athletic, prefer to watch a game over The Real Housewives, and […]

This weekend the high temperatures in Omaha barely broke 0* and the wind chills at night hovered right around a balmy -25*. Welcome to the Midwest! As you can probably imagine we did NOT spend much time outdoors for obvious reasons, but when the sun decided to pop out yesterday afternoon I started craving some […]

I’ve heard many people say how they find killer deals all the time. Well that’s only happened to me once back in college when I was visiting NYC. I walked out of Sak’s with a pair of AG ex-boyfriend jeans for next to nothing. Tag price: $248. My price: A tank of gas. Besides that […]

People always say that short girls should steer clear of bulky items and oversized silhouettes–and in some instances I would agree–but as usual I don’t exactly listen to what other people always say. Take scarves for example. Ok, scarves and knits. My motto on both of those items is ‘bigger IS better.’ Because I work […]
