I’ve heard many people say how they find killer deals all the time. Well that’s only happened to me once back in college when I was visiting NYC. I walked out of Sak’s with a pair of AG ex-boyfriend jeans for next to nothing. Tag price: $248. My price: A tank of gas. Besides that rare instance though, I’m more likely to be the person who buys something today only to see it marked down by at least 50% what I paid about 3 weeks later. Case in point, the scarf from my last post. SO frustrating. Well lucky for me luck was in my favor a few days after Christmas on a trip to The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano with my mom and 2 of my sisters. The four of us walked into Banana Republic and were greeted by a huge sign advertising their current deal of an ‘extra 50% off all sale prices’ so off I went piling sweaters on my arm. All of a sudden Janae points out the most perfect, long, blush-coloredcoat and said ‘you should buy this, it’s $150.’ I assumed she had already done the math and it was actually $300 but with the sale it would be the price she mentioned. WRONG. The youngest Breon girl has just found me the DEAL OF THE YEAR and found it in a size small. Clearly she’s must be my good luck charm. So this gorgeous coat was originally $328 but I was getting it for just under $75. That’s more than 75%…which I figured out immediately so I had numbers to give the Accountant husband when he asked WHY I needed yet another coat. Because it was more than 75% off dear AND because it’s pink and I don’t have a pink one. 😉

Pretty much as soon as I got this beauty home I needed to wear it. It’s such a statement piece that I wanted to let it speak for itself so I went very basic underneath. This sweater is another sale find {Old Navy for the win again} and it’s so incredibly soft. I wish it came in more color options because I would buy them all! I added dark denim, stole a pair of Mary Janes from my sister, and headed out the door. I am a fan of Winter for about 3 days but I am excited that because of where I live, I will be able to get a ton of use out of this coat. It has already been worn to the office, on a dinner date, and on a Sunday afternoon Whole Foods run. Seriously a great investment piece!

**The coat is much more expensive online, so take a page out of my girl Michele’s book, from Classic & Gray, and call your local store! She was able to track one down near her home and get it for the same price I did!!!**
