After Monday’s post I just wanted to clarify that I definitely do not hate Valentine’s Day and I totally do not hate love. I LOVE love actually. I just think we should tell our significant others and those that mean a lot to us how much we love and appreciate them on a daily basis and not just once a year! Kyle and I haven’t gotten too fancy with gifts in the past and will likely stick with the same philosophy this year, so when my girl Laura from Monograms & Moscato shared a fabulous DIY gift idea on Monday that was equal parts sentimental and inexpensive, I knew I was set. Since we keep it simple in the gift-giving arena, our plans for the day have varied. The night-in thing is probably our favorite but it’s also equally as fun to pick a simple dinner spot and have someone else do the cooking. When that happens, we usually get a few appetizers, one entree, & two dessert to share so we can take advantage of trying a bunch of different options! For this kind of date night I want to dress up but not DRESS up; look put together but not overdone.

For my second Valentine’s Day look, I started with this vibrant pink Equipment sweater that I snagged from thredUP. They reached out to me to share the idea behind their online store and I like that they have some great, gently used pieces at a fraction of retail price including many designer brands. I absolutely love Equipment and have bought their pieces at full-price many times so when I had the opportunity to pick up this sweater for more than 70% off what I would’ve usually paid, I was thrilled! It paired just right with distressed black skinnys, black pumps, and one of my favorite tassel necklaces. The outfit was effortless and chic and could easily be worn to various styles of restaurants. Since red is the usual color choice for Valentine’s Day, going for a pink sweater was a nice change up. This bright color is perfect for the day of love but also going to be a staple for Spring! I seriously cannot get enough of it and am eager to wear the sweater with white denim and wedges as the weather starts to warm up.
