I’m HOME in Texas this week and loving every minute of it!

This week’s Thursday Three is all about experiences from the past few days that I just had to share with y’all right away 😉

#1 Pioneer Woman Granola Bars

These things are bomb.com! I rarely, if ever, eat granola bars so when my mom made these a few months back I was a bit skeptical. My mind was immediately changed–these are SO good. I could literally eat an entire pan. Since my mom is kind of a cooking genius she made some of her own personal tweaks but this recipe is a must try! A pan of freshly baked granola bars were waiting for us at the house when we landed in Texas yesterday and Cassidy & I couldn’t have been happier. I’m definitely going to try a batch myself when I get back to Omaha!

#2 Quiet Runs

9 out of 10 times when I run outdoors I have headphones in and a playlist blaring. That’s typically the way I prefer to go about a run, especially long ones, but the past two mornings that I’ve made it outside to run I have had nothing. It’s actually been really peaceful and I’ve gotten to hear the birds chirping, kids loading up their backpacks into the cars before school, and been able to watch the sun quickly rise from the East. While my pace may not have been as quick as usual without the pulsing beat of high-tempo music, they were quite enjoyable and a perfect time for reflection and prayer. By no means will I be making it a regular habit to not run with music, but every once in a while I want to make a conscious effort to truly focus on the peacefulness of nature!

#3 Nordstrom

I know this one is ridiculous, but with the closest Nordstrom just over 3 hours from our house, I rarely get the opportunity to go into one of their brick-and-mortar stores to actually try on their pieces in a fitting room. Yesterday I got to roam the floors of the Nordstrom at the Stonebriar Centre in Frisco with my mom & Cassidy and it was great! It also reminded me why I tend to avoid actual stores. I get so much more annoyed in a fitting room when things don’t fit or they’re not nearly as cute in person as online. Regardless, my never-ending love for Nordstrom continues.
