Happy Monday, lovelies!

I’m not one for Monday’s as y’all are well aware of but this one in unlike any other Monday. Today, I do not have a full-time job. It’s a happy thing but still a bit sad as well. My company was acquired by a St. Louis-based firm in late March and long story short, my job in Omaha {our former HQ} came to an end. I’ve known June 17 would be my last day for the last 6, and even though I’m being well taken care of after all the transitional things I did, it stings just a bit to leave a place that felt like home to me for nearly 3.5 years. While I’m very glad thrilled to be out of the chaos that has become of everything, I’m already missing some great people. As they say ‘when one door closes, another door opens,’ so I’m reveling in that mentality. Prayers for guidance & clarity are welcomed as I have some awesome opportunities in the works but am feeling a bit torn and unsure! So today isn’t a blah, mundane, typical Monday for me; instead it marks Day 1 of what I’m dubbing ‘funemployment.’ My list of house projects is full, I have new recipes I’m going to attempt and I’m signed up for a bunch of new workout classes at various local gyms–boredom is impossible! 🙂 Plus I got to spend an entire weekend loving on Palmer so my mood is pretty dang good {minus the fact I maybe slept for an hour on Saturday night because I was worried about every noise he made!} this morning!

Business on top, casual on the bottom.

That’s exactly how this look feels to me. It is also the perfect outfit for me to wear on my first day not going into an office. I grabbed this adorable top from Ann Taylor in early Spring but completely forgot about it, so despite it not technically being new it feels that way to me. The eyelet detailing adds some interest while the soft ivory tone keeps it classic. For a morning filled with a latte run, fresh flower shopping, and Homegood + Target browsing, this is ideal. I paired the top with my favorite Rag & Bone shorts from last year and these fun booties for a simple get up. I love that if I get a call back for one of the new roles I’m pursuing, I can easily run home and swap the shorts for pencil pants and the booties for a basic pump and be ready to head out and conquer the Marketing world. Versatile, clean and trendy all in one top make it a great buy! Since this one is no longer available, I found this, this, this and this as viable alternatives that are all equally as cute; and if you’ve always been obsessed with these destroyed boyfriend shorts but are not a fan of the price-point, this pair and this pair are super similar and great quality.
