Summer vibes are still alive & going strong here in Nebraska!

While this weekend may have been a few degrees cooler than the last 8 weeks, the Summer heat is still in full force. I’m holding onto it for dear life and spent some time both Saturday & Sunday soaking up the rays on the deck. Call me crazy but I love the feeling of sweating out toxins, reading a good book and having some ‘me’ time in the sun. Seriously so relaxing! Cassidy came to Omaha Friday evening and we had some awesome sister time; cycling class, the best pedicure ever and ice cream for lunch. Hard to beat! After some not so great news at the doctor on Friday afternoon, I needed a super chill weekend. For those of you who’ve asked how things are going {in regards to my post here}, they’re slow. My numbers were not where they needed to be after my first-round of clomid so I’m going back in today at 10:15am for yet more blood work and another scan. If you’re thinking about it–send prayers & positivity my way. Pretty please! 🙂 So clearly, relaxation and low-key were the theme of the weekend for me and I was A-OK with that!

The epitome of laid back.

That is exactly how I would describe this outfit. I actually wore it last Saturday to Mahoney State Park where Kyle’s company was having their massive annual picnic. I knew I wanted something casual but cute and practical but fun so I built the look from my shoes up. These winking espadrilles are one of my favorite purchases from this past Spring’s Shopbop sale. They’ve gotten so much more wear than I ever expected and are a definite conversation-starter. Slowly but surely Kyle has even grown to like them! 😉 I didn’t have any desire to wear shorty shorts to a family-friendly event {and lets be honest, my legs in short shorts are NOT a pretty sight!} so I slipped these slightly over-sized boyfriend cut offs on to keep cool. They’re one of my favorite One Teaspoon pairs because of their longer length. Finishing everything off with the best basic tank and I was ready for mini golf, BBQ + shave ice & yard games. No joke, I own this Free People swing tank in 9 colors. At a $20 price point and the ability to wear it underneath everything from a structured blazer to a cozy cardigan to an army jacket–or by itself–you cannot go wrong. I’ve even worn it to bed; its’ that good. The satisfaction of creating the perfect look for a perfect afternoon and a positive attitude for the week ahead are what will hopefully power me through this Monday. Cheers, babes!
