White denim is always the answer.

Anytime I am stumped on what to wear to appear a bit dressier but not ‘dressed up’ I put on a pair of white denim. There is something so clean and classic about them that just makes me feel like I’m not overdressed or under-dressed but dressed just right. {Insert Goldilocks sounding voice!} Is anyone else shocked by how fast the month of August is going?! Like no joke, we’re over halfway through and it all seems like a blur. Where does the time go? I know I can’t be the only one who could use a few extra hours in the day! With the kids in our neighborhood back in school, preseason NFL games on TV and *gasp* Halloween candy hitting store shelves, I can’t help but be both excited and sad. The coming of Fall is inevitable but I’m still very unwilling to hang up my Summery pieces in place of boots {so obsessed with these & ordering immediately when my spending freeze is over or a cozy scarf. Instead of doing away with my warm weather items, I’ve been SLOWLY introducing Fall-ish colors into my daily wardrobe. Case in point: this top paired with white denim, obviously.

Finding the perfect pair is key.

Even more so than your regular denim, the fit of white jeans is crucial. They can’t be too thin, too stiff and they most definitely cannot be too tight. No one wants to see anyone else is super tight white jeans. Well, I don’t at least. It’s quite possible that I tried on 20 pairs before I found THE ONE and I can tell you my pickiness was well worth it. Since scoring these DL1961s at Nordstrom last year, I’ve worn the heck out of them. So much so that I found a sister pair on sale {they’re now 60% off here!} a few months back and bought them too. I love how they hug my curves and are skinny fit but not uncomfortably skinny. The pockets sit right where I like them to and the length is great for me to wear them with heels, flats or sneakers.

I was bored of my usual denim + tee combo so I switched it up just a bit for dinner last night–because we have literally NO food in the house right now. This mauve/dusty rose/muted purpley top {that is sold out…insert eye roll} from Loft grabbed my attention from my closet so on it went with white denim and a similarly colored heel to amp the look up a bit. Maybe not the great combo for chips, salsa & guac but ya can’t win them all! 😉 What are your favorite ways to style white denim?! How do plan to transition your wardrobe into Fall!?

I love the color of that top! I agree, you have to be veryyyy picky about finding the perfect pair of white jeans! I alwasys think it’s better to spend the extra money to get a great pair of denim, especially white denim! Great post!
