#1 Smoothies

The past few days have been brutal. Like no solid foods brutal. To the point I’ve started craving things that I don’t even like! That bad. My new BFF has become smoothies and NOT anything dairy-based. This is TMI but I’m saying it anyway…I discovered that any dairy or similarly-based smoothies, shakes, etc. create phlegm which is not a good thing when you can hardly swallow tap water. So basically that eliminates smoothies you buy from just about every coffee shop, fast food joint, etc. Great because I didn’t really want to leave the house in the first place. My smoothies haven’t been glamorous but I lost 5 lbs. in less than a week and that’s not good, so protein powder was a must in them. Think water + scoop of protein + tbsp. of PB2 + a frozen banana. Really wild. But they kept me from starving and for that, I’m grateful!

#2 Stretching

Going along with the pathetic-ness of the smoothie bullet is my obsessive-compulsive need to stretch constantly the past few days. I’ve been in bed for days it feels like and my body just aches. I haven’t truly worked out since last Thursday morning and honestly, I still don’t have the energy to walk around the block yet. Not cool. Stretching has helped keep my blood flowing and my mind from going insane but it’s also relieved a lot of tension and stress from my neck, shoulders and lower back. This is just another reminder to me of how important and crucial stretching is and how it should be a priority in my daily routine, not just when I’m under the weather. Foam Rolling as also been a good friend to me and my shoulders and chest have been very thankful for it!

#3 Spanx Leggings

Well I guess we have a ‘S’ theme today so I’ll run with it. Ladies, these faux Spanx leggings are a DREAM. I read reviews like a crazy person and these had literally nothing but amazing things said about them. They’re not cheap {$98 regular price} but right now are 25% off at Nordstrom! I had gone back & forth for a long time before I finally pulled the trigger…I mean $100 leggings that I can’t workout in? Probs not. But then I decided I really wanted a pair that were faux-looking but not shiny or cheap either AND I wanted to wear them to work. Ordered these and now I’m like why the heck did I wait. They suck you in, have a high but not too high rise, and are beyond comfortable. Like you almost forget you have them on that’s how comfy they are. I wore them to the office yesterday and am now wishing they came in 5 colors so I could wear a different pair every day of the week. If you have been contemplating these, or even just looking for a go-to pair of leggings for Fall/Winter, look NO FURTHER. I promise you will NOT be disappointed!
