My crush on blush is no secret.

What else is not a secret is that Mondays are my least favorite day of the weekend, I seriously am in need of some Vitamin D in the form of some hot sun and I will absolutely not be passing out candy to the neighborhood kids tonight. Wow, aren’t I just a positive and friendly one to start the week off?! In all honesty, I think I may have borderline seasonal depression because my attitude and mood seems to be a struggle more often than not once the temperatures may a drastic turn for the worst. If any of y’all have tips on how to combat the late Fall/Winter blues, PLEASE share! One way I’m hoping to keep me upbeat is all things blush. Generally I would categorize this soft pink hue as a Spring-y color that would probably be replaced for something much darker come Fall but this year especially, I’m loving how it looks on cozy knits, chunky cardigans and even on velvet booties {aren’t these gorgeous!?}. There’s something cheery and youthful about the way it looks on everything from tops to bags to accessories so I’ve been welcoming it into my closet with open arms. Maybe a little too open actually, but I’m fine with that problem.

An outfit I want to repeat over and over…

Aren’t those your favorite kinds of looks to create? Ones that you want to wear over and over or at least create near duplicates of? I sure think so but usually those outfits include leggings, a v-neck tee, wrap and tennis shoes that are more appropriate for the couch and weekend laziness. When I hit the jackpot and put something on that can take me to the office, church or out for a date night then I know I succeeded. The combination of this Split-back Pullover, the softest destructed denim and studded flats ended up being totally perfect for me over the weekend. I actually have this top in 2 other colors {grey & blue} because it’s so good. The cutout in the back gives an otherwise simple top a bit more character and allows you to choose whether you show a little skin or not. It’s incredibly soft and also a good weight so I can easily throw a vest over it for a bit more warmth or wear it alone with denim shorts {like I did here} when it’s nicer. And while being matchy-matchy is not normally my thing–unless you count wearing black on black, then it definitely is–but I loved how the pullover, shoes and bag all were nearly identical and softened up the tougher bottoms.

I guess I should finish by saying HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hoping everyone has a great time dressing up, trick-or-treating or handing out candy if that’s your thing OR if you’re like me and will be watching Amityville Horror on your couch while wearing PJs, enjoy that as well! 🙂

Halloween is only 3 short days away! Truth be told, that statement would’ve had me so much more excited during my high school and college days. As I’ve gotten older I’ve basically become the Grinch of all things Halloween. My desire to dress up/go to costume parties is relatively non-existent and the thought of spending […]

*Image via slowcooker.net #1 Buffalo Chicken Chili Honestly, this recipe for Buffalo Chicken Chili could not be any easier. Brown the ground chicken on the stove for about 5 minutes and then throw all of the ingredients into your crockpot and ignore it for 4-6 hours. The simplicity of the recipe made me doubt how […]

It’s all about progress over perfection people! I’m no genius; case in point the fact that it’s taken me about 3.5 years to realize the above. Not only in my fitness journey {where I began to realize it first} but in life as a whole. You wouldn’t necessarily peg me as a perfectionist because I […]

I love breaking fashion ‘rules’ than are old and outdated. True be told, I’m actually a fan of breaking rules and conformity as a whole. Of course I’m all for rules and regulations that keep us safe, healthy, etc. but restrictions are so yesterday. While I totally love order and organization, I tend to have […]

Current status: cozy AF in this cardigan. I figured that sentence would be a bit more appropriate in the body of this blog post vs. the title. And I’m pretty sure I’ll end up having to explain what AF means to my Mom since there’s a strong chance she’s one of the few that actually […]

Meet CABO! Today’s #ThursdayThree is all about the rambunctious little dude that’s taken over our house, and our hearts, over the past few days. Instead of a food, fitness and fashion favorite, I am listing the top 3 ways that I can describe this ball of equal parts joy and terror. 🙂 #1 Adorable It is […]

Happy Workout Wednesday, friends! After my post two weeks ago about feeling down and unmotivated, I am back to my usual self in terms of workouts. I’ve had a renewed energy and passion for getting myself out of bed at 5:20am and pushing my limits! I’ve also noticed a more positive attitude lately as well […]

Oh Sweater Weather, how I love you! Don’t worry Summer, you’ll forever remain my favorite but there is something so great about putting on a cozy sweater while getting dressed in the morning. The past two weeks or so in Omaha have been super confusing weather-wise. One day will require a warm turtleneck and booties […]

Casual Fridays are my favorite. To be honest, basically any day in my office can be casual and I love that but Fridays just feel different regardless of the dress code. Maybe because they’re my favorite weekday and they mean that in just a few hours we’re free for the weekend or maybe it’s because […]
