I’m back! This last week has been a nightmare…between the back-end of the blog crashing after and update and some major hosting issues, we are back up and running. YAY! Coming in hot with this week’s #ThursdayThree and all of these are goodies! 🙂

#1 Margaritas

Yesterday was National Margarita Day–yaaaaaasss Queen–and it deserves all of the praise hands. It is beyond me why it falls on a date in late February rather than in the more ideal Summer months when one tends to actually consume them, but I’m not one to complain about a day dedicated to a drink. In the spirit of Margs, I’m sharing my absolute favorite simple/easy recipe to make an amazing margarita at home. My main tip is to invest in some legitimate tequila and not settle for the cheap stuff. I swear it makes a world of difference! And if you’re able to make your own sweet & sour mix, that also improves the taste as well. Here is what I use: 1 oz. of lime juice (freshly squeezed) + 1 shot of top shelf tequila + 1 shot of Patron Citronge + 2 tbsp simple syrup {I make my own with this recipe!}. I shake all of the ingredients with a 1/2 cup of ice, salt the rim of my favorite margarita glasses and garnish with a lime.

#2 Floss Bands

So I’ve used these once and can’t say much more than I’m super excited to try these out over the next 2 months before my race in Toledo. My Chiropractor {who is basically a saint} used these on my left knee during my appointment yesterday and while I feel like it almost made it hurt more immediately after, I can already feel an extended range of motion this morning! Apparently these aren’t ‘new’ by any means but are becoming more widely used for Physiotherapy to increase mobility, flexibility, etc. Basically they look like stretchy resistance bands but instead of using them to workout with, you wrap your problem area and in my case bend & flex your knee while it’s wrapped. It was an incredibly bizarre feeling! I trust my Doc completely and he hasn’t steered me wrong in the 4 years I’ve been seeing him so needless to say I came out and ordered THESE off of Amazon. I’m sure there are similar options out there but this is exactly what he used so I wanted the same. My current issue is a really tight IT band so by using this for recovery after long runs I am supposed to be improving joint movement, loosening muscles and increasing flexibility. Stay tuned!

#3 New Books!

I absolutely love to read and I always have. Sometimes I’ll fly through 4-5 books in a month while other times I may not even finish one over the course of 30 days. Right now I’m in a zone and am currently reading–and OBSESSED with–All Is Not Forgotten. I’m not sure how to describe it exactly but it messes with your head. In a good way. It started off a tiny bit slow but after about 2 chapters I was hooked. I’ve about 3/4 of the way through and I’d highly recommend it; unless of course the ending absolutely sucks and makes me mad. In that case, I’ll keep you posted! Up next on my reading list is All The Missing Girls. Have any good recommendations that I need to add to my list?! Let me know!
