Spring trends are in full force!

Now that the first full week of Spring has passed us, I’m seriously ready to shelf my cozy turtlenecks and dark skinnys for lighter denim and breezy tops. Sure I know that I’ll have to have an easy cardigan or lightweight pullover on standby, yet I can’t help but crave the warm sun on my face and not being required to layer my looks when getting dressed in the morning. I am for sure not alone in that mindset and I’m super envious of those of you who live in places where this is already your norm. Last week my parents had multiple days in the 90s! What?! They’re down in Texas complaining and I’m up here like ‘send that my way ASAP.’ One thing that I couldn’t be more excited about, regardless of rain/shine/cold/hot, is the GRAND OPENING of Hello Ruby {follow along on Insta & Facebook!} here in Omaha. Today & Friday I have the pleasure of sharing some of the adorable pieces Jill has curated for her traveling fashion boutique that will be hitting the open road this Saturday, April 1. Be sure to stop back by the blog on Friday where I’ll have an exclusive interview with this fabulous girl boss who will be talking more about her unique concept and how you can get your hands on these tops in today’s post.

Baring the shoulders.

Take a look inside any department store, local boutique or online at any retailer and you’ll find literally hundreds of cold shoulder styles. I’m so not mad about the wide selection either. It’s one of those trends that has been in play for a few seasons now and doesn’t look to be going anywhere any time soon. It’s the perfect combination of subtle casualness meets sexy edge depending on the top you choose; and it’s not just short sleeve basics that you’re seeing with the cut-outs. From dresses to sweatshirts and everything in between, showing off those shoulders is so trendy. To style each of these tops from Hello Ruby I decided on a casual happy hour vibe and vamp one up a bit for date night. Adding a bold lip seems to amplify even the simplest of outfits and my go-to dark lip {shade: Diva} did just that to a neutral palette. Perfect for dinner and a comedy show with the hubs. For a fun Friday night happy hour with the girls, a pair of slip ons and tassels give an otherwise simple shirt and jeans a little pop. Both tops are under $50 and are great additions to my closet. I have no doubt you’ll be seeing these styled multiple ways in the coming weeks and months!
