It’s ALMOST time for my favorite sale of the year!

I seriously get just almost as excited for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as I do for my own birthday. Which if you know me at all, you know I celebrate said birthday for an entire month {November if you want to send anything my way ;-)} so I clearly am a pretty darn big fan of the annual sale. For any fashionista, this sale is a MUST and if you want to gain access before the general public you need to be either a debit or credit card holder with Nordstrom. Hopefully y’all are because tonight is your last chance to sign up and start shopping on July 13! That’s right…if you have a card, you can get your hands on alllllll the goodies 1 week before it opens to everyone everywhere! I’m breaking it all down for you–like every other blogger–below:

What is it?

Only the greatest sale of the year for you to shop! Nordstrom marks down BRAND. NEW. Fall 2017 items BEFORE Fall. I mean what?! It’s almost unheard of. But they do it and it’s awesome. So you’ll be shopping some of the best clothing, shoes & accessories for the back-half of the year at 40-60% off! It’s basically like a reversal of how most sales work…usually things are stocked and as the season we’re in comes to a close, they get discounted. Not with this one! This sale allows you to stock up on the pieces you’ll be wishing you would have {if you don’t!} come early Fall. I promise!

When & Where?

Both online and in stores, Nordstrom card holders will gain EARLY ACCESS July 13th – 20th. On July 21st, the sale will be open to the public. Some items will be re-stocked once the sale is live for everyone but many of the best pieces will not be. August 6th is the last day to take advantage of some insanely amazing deals and on August 7th all the fabulously discounted items will go back to full price.

Why should you shop?

Because I said so. And because for a very short amount of time, brand new styles are being offered to you at some seriously discounted rates. No really though, this is one of the only times I will tell you that you should REALLY DO AS I SAY. Brands that very, VERY rarely get marked like Vince {one of my personal favorites!}, AG, Rebecca Minkoff, Rag & Bone, etc. are included and it’s the best time to pull the trigger on items from your ‘Lust List.’ Some of the best deals on denim, booties and cozy cardigans that you’ll see all year will be included.

Tips

*Make a List & check it twice – It may sound dumb but I promise it will help, especially if you’re shopping online. Nordstrom literally has thousands upon thousands of items online so browsing through each & every sale piece will be nearly impossible. Have a list of things you need and search the sale based on those items. After you get through those, PURCHASE. Then you’ll be able to breathe a bit and THEN you can see what else is out there!

*Buy Now, Return Later. – This is Kyle’s worst nightmare but I think he’s finally come to accept this as my philosophy during the Nordstrom sale. Last year I bought 3 pairs of nearly identical, dark skinny jeans and they were each around $120. He wanted to cry. But I said I only ordered 3 so I could try them on, decide which I liked best and send the other 2 back. This ensured I got my size in each pair and wasn’t regretting not having the chance to try the others on. Nordstrom offers free shipping & free returns so this is kind of a no-brainer to me. Like it & see it in your size in-stock? Buy it. If you get it home and hate it, it goes back. Simple as that!

*Love it? Get it in multiple colors. – Probably my biggest regret from last year’s sale was not buying a super basic, slouchy tee in more than just one color. I was obsessed with it and it never got re-stocked. My own fault. Similar thing happened with a cardigan but it ended up coming back about a month later so I grabbed it but was stuck paying full price. Killer. If you KNOW you like something, get it in all the colors you like. Then, much like the previous tip, you can always return what you end up not needing–or more likely wanting since you probably don’t need any of these things. HA!

*It’s never too early for Christmas shopping! – Sounds WAY too early to be honest but it’s not. If you’ve heard anyone mention anything that you catch on sale during the Anniversary Sale, buy it. Some of my favorite gifts from last year’s sale included a Diptyque Candle Set, Nest candles, MAC lip sets & Barefoot Dreams robes. You’ll thank me that you snagged these things on sale. Pinky promise.

*Tell your friends – It’s simple. Good friends share good sales with good friends. 🙂

Be sure to check back here mid-morning Thursday to see what I purchased first! My current list includes: a pair of destructed/raw hem denim, 1-2 cozy cardigans, a cashmere wrap, pearl slides, neutral heeled mule, leather tote, sneakers, workout leggings and PJs. Kyle needs dress shirts, a pair of dark denim, a casual-style loafer and a few henleys. I’m sure I’ll sneak a handful of extras in there, too! HAPPY SHOPPING!
