I am on cup #2 of coffee this morning and we’re currently in a Winter Storm Warning. Apparently we’re in the 8-16″ range. Happy Monday Musings – Vol 20 to us. UGHHH. Days like today are when I sweetly ask Kyle if he has any interest yet in moving to Texas… If we get that high end of he snow predictions, he’ll have to go out more than once to clear our driveway with our baby snow blower so maybe his answer will be LET’S GO afterwards!?

Where I went this weekend…

South Dakota! I needed some sister/kiddo time and it was great for my heart. On Saturday I helped Haley do some shopping and *almost* fully complete decorating her huge built-ins in their living room. We even got to sneak away for happy hour! If you’re in Sioux City — the Blood Orange Marg at Crave was pretty dang good! Palmer had a hockey game yesterday and it was just about the cutest thing ever. The kid is 4 and can skate better than pretty much everyone I know. And his competitive side is hilarious to see in action. I got lots of Smithy Dougs snugs in and Campbell shadowed me most of the time which melts my heart. She even wanted me to curl her hair–which is actually not even possible. But it was THE SWEETEST. No one is unaware of this by name but being Aunt Kiki is MY FAVORITE. Now I just need some Georgia & Braxton time!

How I am feeling after finishing week 2 of birth control…

A little weird honestly. Last week at this time I was feeling pretty normal, but that’s since changed. Without going too in-depth my boobs are SO FREAKING SORE. Like kind of swollen {bonus cleavage that I’m not entirely mad about though LOL} and they feel like they’re full of knots. So that’s super fun. I’m also not sleeping great. And I’ve had a few wicked headaches. Clearly my body is a little out of whack with the hormones. I’m not surprised but it does make me a little more nervous for the next phase with the shots. If you’ve been praying, I’d love to request that the prayers this week be for me to get some relief from the above. Also for my nerves and anxiety as they’re starting to really creep in.

What we’re eating this week…

We did well once again last week with following the weekly meal plan so I’m hoping we have another smooth one ahead of us. The response to sharing a few actual recipes was great, too, so I’m going to attempt that again:

  • Meatless MondayMargherita Pizzas w/ Side Salads
  • TuesdaySweet Potato Gnocchi Bowls – I’ll be also adding spinach, tomatoes & ground spicy Italian Sausage
  • WednesdayCrockpot Crack Chicken – I will add this to low-carb tortillas and flash-fry them in a skillet on the stove + add a side of street corn
  • Thursday – Turkey Burgers (bun-less like always for me) w/ roasted veggies
  • FridaySesame Chicken Bowls
  • Saturday – take-out

Random Ramblings…

  • I am back in the ‘ok, let’s go look at a new car’ mindset. The last 3 I’ve come across that I’m interested in start at $70k+ LOL so Kyle was pretty excited when I proposed we go look at the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport. Putting into the universe that I’m loving the matte grey so if you copy me, I have a date stamp that I said it first 😉
  • This weekend one of my best friends sent me an old softball video clip and it got me digging into the archives to figure out what year it was from. Well it was 2006. So in honor of that digging, here is a fabulous Breon family photo from my Senior Night in July 2007. It was quite possibly the last time I was the tallest sister and thankfully also possibly the last time dad wore jorts…

  • There’s basically nothing on tv that Kyle and I can both agree on and we’re having a dry spell of ‘good shows’ to binge, until last Thursday! We started Silicon Valley {yes, we’re aware this isn’t ‘new} and are loving it. So far, so good.
  • Totally random, but I told Haley this weekend that we are absolutely going to need The Little Homies book collection. Specifically these two: 1, 2, 3 with the Notorious B.I.G. and ABC/DC. How fun, right?!
  • The Tallahassee. My first official Stetson hat of my own. One that will forever remind me of Papa. <3 Blond Genius helped me fulfill my desire to have one just like his and I couldn’t be more grateful. Shop from BG, they’re fabulous…and they created code KristinK10 for 10% off any purchase because they’re just that sweet.

Hi, commenting on the target dress, I landed on your blog to see if you posted where you got the jacket from too, and maybe even the shoes. To me, the jacket was key in elevating this look. While I’m sure the dress is pretty with no jacket and can be worn so many ways successfully, the jacket made the difference. So, any chance you’d be able to tell me where the jacket is from and what color it is? Thank you so much.

Hi Raquel – glad you liked the outfit! I did not share details on the other items because neither are able to be linked. Unfortunately the shoes were a Nordstrom exclusive in 2019 during their Anniversary Sale and are unavailable anywhere (maybe Poshmark could have them?!) and they’re Vince. The jacket was a limited color and is also completely sold out. This is the exact jacket: https://rstyle.me/+a72a4v3_OZMOA9xWpvpdkw and this would be the closet similar color: https://rstyle.me/+lg8-902BndABRariynIgyQ
