Today I’m introducing y’all to Doug!

{This is his ‘I can pose for blog pictures too‘ look! Can’t even deal hahaha!}

Meet my dad. He’s awesome. Along with my Mama, he’s raised 4 daughters. No, he does not have any boys. No, he does not need your sympathy because he did not have a son. Dad has never NOT had a volunteer to shoot baskets in the front yard, run to Lowe’s for landscaping with him, go hiking in the mountains on a family vacation or paint a bedroom. He also grew up with 4 sisters and no brothers, so being outnumbered by the opposite gender is nothing new to him. My dad can braid hair, he was always willing to play Pretty Pretty Princess {we have pictures to prove it!} and he has always been an amazing example of how a father should provide for and love his family. He taught me how to drive, how to backhand a ground ball and how to read a map. He is who I went to for help buying my first car, our first house and can tell me exactly what the sale price of an item that is 33% off today will be without pulling out a calculator. That mental math ability is a true skill! 😉 I could not be more thankful for him and while I’ll be celebrating him from a few hundred miles away this weekend, it doesn’t make me any less proud to call him Dad!

Three Father’s Day Gift Ideas!

Father’s Day is THIS Sunday! Anyone else feel like it just kind of sneaks up on you?! Luckily Dad’s seem to be happy with just about any gift, or even just a good dinner, so you shouldn’t have to look too far to find something that puts a smile on his face. This year my dad is getting three gifts from me and I’m hoping that maybe one of these will spur an idea for your dad, father-in-law, uncle or whoever was that father-figure in your life! 🙂

Harry’s Shave Set – Buying razors is NOT fun, at least in my opinion. Harry’s is the perfect alternative for dads having to wander up and down the shaving aisle at the store and wondering what to buy. I gave my dad this kit already and he loved it. He might’ve enjoyed reading the instructions on how to use each item {order the kit & you’ll understand why!} more than even using the razor itself. HA! Besides this Limited Edition Father’s Day Kit, Harry’s has other blade options, razors and plans that can fit into anyone’s routine. The refill blades are actually cheaper than what my dad was previously buying so I’m saving him some money in the future, too!

Nike Dri Fit – My dad lives in Texas. In Texas from about May – October it’s hot. So he lives in dri-fit style shirts, which is totally fine by me because it gives me a legitimate excuse to buy him clothing. A win-win for both of us really. It’s becoming harder and harder to pick colors he doesn’t have but the minute I saw THIS bright blue/camo combo I knew he needed it because the color is almost exactly the same as his eyes. Awhhh.

A New Book – This one is definitely going to vary based on tastes & preferences but my dad absolutely loves to read so we can never go wrong buying him a new book or two. Especially because I swear he reads a 600+ pager in about 2 days. My mom hates this kind of gift, and I don’t blame her, but sometimes when I’m struggling in the ‘what to get dad’ department, I default to this one!

{So glad he still thinks he’s strong enough to hold 2 grown girls on his arms!}
