Sometimes {ok, fine, lots of times} I run errands while wearing a pair of Nike shorts and a t-shirt from some High School Softball Tournament that should have been thrown out years ago. Occasionally, though, something in my closet jumps out at me and asks to be worn. On Sunday afternoon, that exact scenario took place! Needing to make a few quick stops at Target, Party City, & Marshall’s to pick up items for my sister Haley’s Bachelorette Party–posts to come–this brightly colored shirt just begged to be put on. The simple fact that at 11:15am the Heat Index was already over 95* almost talked me out of wearing the top, but the loose-fit and airy material actually helped to keep me cool while shielding my arms from the intense direct sunlight.

Because I’m all about being able to wear my clothes in various settings, I really like that the top is able to be tucked into a pencil skirt for a summery office look or with a cozy cardigan, skinnys, and boots when Fall comes. Wanting to be comfortable while crossing items off myTo-Do List, I put on my white shorts, slid on my favorite sandals, and added my trusty KS pendant necklace for a fun pop of color. When I’m shopping or running errands, I tend to reach for a small crossbody, but for this outing I needed the extra space a tote could provide to bring some decor, color samples, and an inspiration sheet for the party.
