All in favor of Pantone’s Color of the Year, Rose Quartz, raise your hand!
I’ll just be over here raising both hands because I absolutely ADORE this color. Blush tones have always been a favorite of mine so when they were dubbed ‘Color of the Year,’ I was pretty proud of myself that I was already aboard that color train. I honestly believe that this hue looks amazing on any and every skin tone which means we all can rock it with confidence! As an athlete and avid sports fan, I use to think that pinks were ‘too girly’ and tended to avoid them for fear of appearing overly feminine. I mean it was bad enough girls in high school would ask me ‘why are you SO dressed up today?’ when I would wear jeans and a sweater instead of wandering the halls wearing the more ‘acceptable’ uniform of Nike sweats 3x bigger than necessary paired with a hooded sweatshirt also way too big. Unfortunately it took me a little longer than I’m proud to say to accept the fact that I actually LIKED to dress like a girl even if it wasn’t the most popular thing to do at the time. Once I figured that out, I owned it, and some people even followed! Thinking back on it, I’m disappointed I let those girls’ opinions and comments dictate how I represented myself but I’m also glad to say I realized that my worth isn’t in the way others view me but in how God views me and how I feel inside my own skin. Haters gonna hate and I ain’t got time for that! 😉
Blushing head-to-toe and loving it.
It’s kind of true, though. Monochromatic looks are all over style magazines, Instagram, and fashion-forward individuals but most of them tend to be in your basics of black, white, & grey {which I absolutely adore}. I thought, why not go full-on with the Color of the Year and rock the look? This dress I snagged last Spring during Shopbop’s Friends & Family Sale–total steal!–which means that it’s no longer available but English Factory has some other great options like this adorable lace-up shift. Pairing this mini with studded flats & a basic crossbody was the perfect combination for a late Saturday coffee & cinnamon roll run. Because the length is borderline too short for my comfort, I’ve also paired it over these skinnys to give it a completely different look. Adding a sky-high heel, like these, keep it a bit more appropriate but still super youthful.

I LOVE this shade on you! It is so great to see women really embracing this romantic and sophisticated shade of pink! For years I was scared to really admit that I liked pinks, but my fondness for the color has grown over the past year or so, and now I just want a home full of it. Girl I was the SAME! It was like SUCH A big deal to not wear sweatshirts and like baggy ass Abercrombie Jeans. It’s like UGH years wasted in shit clothes.
