barre

You all are AMAZING!

I cannot believe how many sweet words you all shared with me yesterday whether in comments, texts, on Instagram, etc. about my ‘Blogiversary’ yesterday. I was so touched that so many people seemed to genuinely care, so thank you so much! 🙂 Today is a new day which brings along a pretty simple Thursday Three…

#1 Brookside Dark Chocolates

These things are like crack to me. Well, I’ve never done crack but I hear it’s really addicting and the Dark Chocolate-covered Acai Blueberries are SO addicting. They’re not the healthiest thing but they’re also not super unhealthy either. I love grabbing a handful as an afternoon or after dinner snack and I’ve recently started freezing them, which forces me to slow down when I eat them 😉 I use to pick up a few in the checkout line at Target but just discovered that Brookside has a ton of other snack options in the actual aisle, so that’s going to be dangerous.

#2 Ankle Weights

For Cassidy’s Bachelorette Party last weekend, we took a private barre class at The Barre Code in Omaha {so. much. fun!}. I’ve taken plenty of barre classes but only one other at TBC so I was a bit unsure what to expect. The Instructor had all of us girls put on ankle weights for the entire workout and it was brutal! Brutal in a good way, though. I cannot believe how much of a difference a pair of ankle weights makes when doing simple moves. It made my legs fatigue a bit quicker than usual but I loved the feeling of resistance it added to an otherwise pretty ‘routine’ workout. I just bought a pair for myself to wear while doing legs sequences like lunges, calf raises, etc. as well as ab-focused moves. Totally worth the investment!

#3 Smith’s Rosebud Salve

I know I’ve mentioned this before but I have been swearing by this stuff lately. My lips have been so unbelievably dry which is kind of ironic since we’ve had such nice weather. It seems like everything I try or use ends up leaving my lips begging for some moisture and it’s been really frustrating. I have the salve in both the tin {my preference} and the tube and I bought two more so that I have one everywhere: car, purse, laptop bag, nightstand and bathroom. Call me a weirdo but at this point I would swim in a pool of this stuff if I could. At $6 it’s not too expensive but a little more than those horrible {sorry if you like them!} Eos options, but with the sheen it gives I end up wearing it as a ‘gloss’ quite often.

**Happy Cinco de Mayo, by the way! We plan to celebrate with tacos, chips & guac, Negra Modelos for Kyle and a virgin Spicy Marg for me {don’t read into that too much–I just don’t have alcohol on nights before 6am OrangeTheory classes HAHA!}**
