#1 Pumpkin Protein Shake

I said this last week but PSLs are not my thing. But I thoroughly enjoy just about everything else pumpkin-flavored so when I found a recipe for a Pumpkin Protein Shake I was all about testing it out. My first attempt was a little too pumpkin-y for me so when I tried a second time, I cut the pumpkin puree down to a 1/4 cup from a 1/2 cup. That was the perfect amount for me! I loved that while it was a shake, it still gave me a warm/Fall-like feeling. I’ve used both Almondmilk and Coconut Milk since trying out various combinations and I think my vote for this particular shake is Almond because the nutty flavor blends well with the rest of the ingredients. Also, for my protein powder I went with my current go-to of Vega Vanilla. This would be a great Thanksgiving morning breakfast that’s both heathly & festive! Let me know if you test this out πŸ™‚

#2 Barre Class

This could have an entire post dedicated to it but since the Barre classes I take are now few and far between, it’s getting a bit less love than it probably deserves. I use to take Pure Barre classes like they were going out of style. Twice a week I’d skip lunch and take a noon class and then at least once, if not twice, I’d get up and hit a 5:30am class. Honestly it’s the only workout I’ve ever done that truly reshaped my thighs. Butttttttt after realizing I was paying close to $30/class even though I had packages that were suppose to make classes cheaper, I had to stop. Not in my budget. Then my most favorite spot, Elevate Cycling & Fitness, started offering Barre classes at a time that actually worked in my schedule {I’d go to Elevate daily if it weren’t 30 minutes from my house!}. So last night I went to class and got my butt kicked, but in the best possible way. With doctor’s orders to take it down a notch with the intensity of my workouts, I’m putting a focus on getting back to the bar on the regular!

#3 Slippers

So today’s high in Omaha is 72* and tomorrow’s high is 40*. With a low of 21*. And windy. So basically I want to hole up in my house and not emerge until Spring. Who’s with me!? Since that’s impossible, I at least need to have my feet warm at all times. I absolutely despise wearing socks and have a strange phobia of my toes touching so slippers are necessity for me. I want pairs that are cozy and warm but don’t make make my feet sweaty. I also need 2-3 pairs of good slippers at all times because I like to leave them all over the house. So need probably isn’t the correct word but whatever. A pair next to my bed, a pair in the basement next to the couch and a pair to wear in the car while traveling. See, I just justified the need. πŸ˜‰ I’ve narrowed down my favorites to 6 great choices! Slippers make great, but also very practical, Christmas gifts and with varying price-points, there’s a pair for every lady in your life! This pairΒ is on my list…so if you’re reading this Mom or Kyle, get me these!
