A week off–dang I’ve missed this!

Last week was so crazy but in such a great way. I spent 4 days in Kansas City executing a Sales Kick-off for nearly 150 internal employees and external vendors; something that myself and my 2 ‘instant besties’ pulled off over about a 10-day time period. Talk about chaotic, stressful and overwhelming but in the end it was super rewarding to see all of our late nights and frantic phone calls come full circle. Sometimes Often I envy my blogger gals that get to dedicate their full attention to the world of blogging but after weeks like last, I’m grateful for a full-time corporate role that I truly love. My real life though is that I get to do something I sincerely enjoy during ‘normal(ish)’ business hours and then spend whatever free time I want growing one of my most favorite hobbies. Every waking moment in January has been dedicated to meeting room layouts, catering orders, collateral creation and brainstorming sessions so look-shooting and content creation went to the back burner a little more than I care to admit. Because of that today’s post is focusing on a roundup of my 5 favorite purchases this year. Yes, I’m aware we’re not even full the first month of 2017 but there are immediately five items that I think of as staples in the extremely short amount of time I’ve had them in my possession. Check them out below! 🙂

#1 Tassel Slides — To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. These are 100x better than I even hoped them to be. The tan suede is such a perfect neutral color and the tassels add just a bit of sass. I’ve worn them almost nonstop since they were delivered. They fit TTS {I took my usual size 8} and are comfy + easy to walk in.

#2 Mother Denim — This brand is slowly creeping up their way up to the top of my favorite denim makers and for good reason. The raw hem and button-fly are on-trend and the lighter wash is a nice change for Spring and to my collection of dark wash skinnys. The high waist provides tummy control and really lifts your bum. Win/win for sure! *I went with my usual 26 and am really happy with the fit*

#3 LBD — I’m behind on ordering this particular LBD and I have no idea why I waited so long. Honestly I wasn’t convinced there could be anything too special about a cotton, ruched tank dress but I was kind of wrong. The fit is beyond flattering and accentuates {or creates!} curves. The way everything is draped allows it to look great on nearly every figure and it’s not too short which keeps it work appropriate. I went with a size Small and don’t feel like it’s too tight whatsoever.

#4 Moto Leggings — These are another item I held off a while on purchasing but not because I didn’t think I’d love them. Their price tag scared me actually and I wasn’t sure if they’d be TOO edgy for me. My fears were calmed the moment I put them on. I’m currently loving the way they fit and the fact that they can be dressy just as easily as they can be athletic. I have these in a size Small but I think I could’ve probably done an XS so if you’re unsure, I’d suggest ordering both sizes and returning the extra!

#5 Bright Sneakers — Nike’s Roshe Two sneakers may have just pulled into a tie with my Juvenates {that I have in 3 colors!} as the most comfy everyday sneaker in my closet. The neon coral color is so cheery and it makes me crave Spring more than I already did. I think they run about 1/2 a size large though because I’m an 8.5 in every single pair of Nikes I’ve ever owned but preferred these in an 8.
