Warning: today’s post is LONG. I’m breaking down my Nordstrom Sale posts into 3 parts. The first one is my Nordstrom Sale Fitting Room Try-on. Clearly I couldn’t, and didn’t want to, purchase everything I tried on. But to show you as much as possible, I’m giving you a quick glance at everything that made it into my fitting room. Everything from fit, feel and sizing will be included! Keep in mind that fit/feel is TOTALLY subjective and strictly my opinion. Something I may hate, someone else will love. Something I love, some will think is awful. Not everything fits us all the same and that’s the beauty of fashion. I shared some tips in THIS blog post about shopping the sale early, and it still applies to public access!

For reference, I am 5’5″ / 124 lbs / 34A. My usual top size is XS/S and I’m a 26 or small in bottoms. I carry my weight in my thighs/butt, my calves are thick and I have basically no hips. Hopefully this helps when you see how things fit me! 🙂 Also, nothing has been filtered so you are seeing the true colors in the glorious fitting room light! HA! Ok, now onto my Nordstrom Sale Fitting Room Try-on…

SWEATER – $29.90
Went in expecting to love this sweater based on how it looked in the catalog/online. Didn’t. The fit is a bit cropped and the neck a little too low for what I prefer. I have it pulled back on my shoulders a bit. This is an XS. Super soft though!
SWEATER – $29.90
Same sweater as above in pink. Really pretty color! This is a better look at the low cut front. Size XS.
SWEATER – $35.90
Loved this color (also comes in green). Super soft, but again a slightly short fit. Size XS.
SWEATER – $25.90
This is the PERFECT sweater to become your closet staple. I sized up to a Small for a slightly slouchy fit but could’ve also done the XS or Medium, depending on the look I was going for. It’s lightweight, inexpensive & will go with everything.
SWEATER – $29.90 // SKIRT – $31.90
Again, wearing the same sweater as above in a Small. This cream color came home with me. Wearing a Small in this skirt but it was a bit loose. Not usually a look I’d go for but I loved the combination of these 2 pieces! Skirt wasn’t too short & had good stretch.
Tee – $11.90 // Jeans – $49.90
I usually get these $11 tees in every color, every year. This year I thought they basically sucked. I’m wearing the XS and the fit was boxy + the material was a bit thick/stiff. Unimpressed to say the least. Surprisingly LOVED these jeans. Great price point & super similar to a pair I own that cost 3x as much. Wearing the 26 but would suggest sizing up 1.

LONG SLEEVE TEE – $15.90
Way better than the short sleeve version! I’m in the XS and the arms were a bit tight but the neck and body a bit loose.
SWEATER – $31.90 // JEANS – $49.90
Same jeans as above. This sweater is another one I wanted to love but yet again, a crop-ish fit. It’s super flattering though! Wearing an XS.
THERMAL – $24.90 // JEANS – $49.90
Super soft. Definitely worth the $25! Comes in a few colors & I’m in the XS. Could’ve done a small for a slightly bigger fit but wanted the shoulders to fit more closely.
Nordstrom Sale Fitting Room Try-On
SWEATER – $44.90
This sweater is all over Instagram and I think I may be the only person so far to say I’m not a fan. I’m in the XS here and it’s boxy & ill-fitting on my body. It is really soft though and comes in grey, pink & a striped combo. I’ve been it look super cute on others, so if you were wanting it–it’s worth a try!
MIDI DRESS – $38.90
I wanted this dress in the leopard print but the store I was at didn’t have it so I tried this one on for reference. Wearing the XS. Wasn’t a huge fan of the material but it would be a great transition-to-Fall dress for sure.
BLAZER – $69.90
Wearing a US2 in this. I wish I looked cute in blazers but I look dumb. This blazer is ADORABLE and could be styled so many fun ways!
CARDIGAN – $44.90 / JEANS – $64.90
This cardigan is super popular, comes in 4 colors and is very soft! I liked the side slits but it was just took bulky & unflattering on my frame. Wearing an XS. More on these jeans later but I’m in a 26 and absolutely adore them.
FLEECE PULLOVER – $49.90 / JEANS – $64.90
The updated version of this Wubby Fleece Pullover is MUCH BETTER than last year’s style! It’s more structured and the side pockets are a great addition. I ended up purchasing it in cream but this wine color was very pretty in person. Wearing the XS. Jeans are size 26.

CARDIGAN – $45.90 / JEANS – $64.90 / TEE – $10.90
The infamous leopard cardigan that sold out in 2.2 seconds! This is the size Small and it’s actually a lot better in person than I expected after seeing it online. It’s not really my style, so I passed (apparently I should’ve purchased & auctioned it off online, haha) but if you’re debating — I say get it! Better look at these jeans…I grabbed them just as a basic pair of denim for trying tops on and fell in love. They’re the perfect crop length, non-destructed and the color reminds me of the 90s! Also, this tee is a must at $10.90 and I’m in a medium.
CARDIGAN – $31.90 / JEANS – $64.90 / TEE – $10.90
Literally don’t have much to say except BUY THIS CARDIGAN. I’m wearing a XS & went with this mustard color because it’ll be great for Iowa State Football games this Fall. My mom got it in red in a medium, my sister Cassidy got it in a black size small.
LEOPARD DENIM – $44.90 / LONG SLEEVE – $18.90
These jeans are fun! Not my typical look but the muted leopard is right on trend. Wearing a 26 but they did fit a bit loose. Top is a closet staple under $20 & I’m in a small.

HOODED SWEATSHIRT – $31.90 / JOGGERS – $31.90
Why, oh why, is this hoodie a cropped style!? So disappointing. Both pieces are incredibly soft and great for lounging, but the cropped top made it a no go for me. Wearing a medium top for extra length & XS bottoms.
RIBBED SWEATER – $29.90 / JEANS – $51.90
This sweater was a random grab & I’m so glad I saw it. I’m wearing a small and it’s not see-through or too thick. Love how it’s actually a bright white color and not off-white or ivory. Jeans are amazing but I am in between sizing (wearing a 27 here). Love the busted knee & they’re a great, inexpensive alternative to the cult-favorite Levi’s style.
GRAPHIC TEE – $23.90 / JEANS – $149.90
Can’t beat a good graphic tee! Wearing a small in this photo but went home with an XS instead. If you’re in the market for light, non-destructed denim then you have found a winner. I LOVEEED these but unfortunately I only allowed myself 1 pair of ‘splurge denim’ this year and I needed a dark wash more. Wearing a 26 and they fit great!
SWEATER – $49.90
The fleck/marled detail in this sweater is something I really liked + it comes in like 3 other color options. I’m wearing the small here & it’s definitely oversized. It does have wool in it which made it a definite no for me — it was scratchy but not unbearable. Proceed with caution 😉
WHITE TEE – $15.90
This is a great alternative to the $11 BP tee. It’s much softer, less boxy and more lightweight. Comes in a TON of color combos. Wearing the XS here and it’s still a bit loose.
BUTTON-UP TOP – $104.90 / JEANS – $146.90
Outrageous price for a button-up, I’m aware. I do love Rails though, so I had to try it. Wearing the XS. If this price-point is in your budget, you can’t go wrong! Love the length. These jeans were my ‘splurge denim’ choice. The chewed hem was super cute and the super dark was was a fun change from what else I own.
SWEATER – $45.90 / JEANS – $89.90
This might be my favorite sweater of the sale and it’s very underrated. The longer length and minimal v-neck is a great alternative to my normal sweaters and it’s both soft and not too thick. Wearing the small but needed the XS.
SWEATER – $49.90 / JEANS – $89.90
Bought this sweater last year and I’m loving the updated stripe color. Wearing a XS. This has no wool!!! It’s not too heavy but a good weight for Fall. Jeans are a size 26 but I need the 25. 10″ button-front and a great length for my height.
OVERSIZED JACKET – $84.90 / JEANS – $89.90
Oversized yet slim cut, this jacket was gold! It sold-out so quick during Early Access so if it’s available, go for it! I’m in an XS here but think I want a small for an even more baggy fit. Madewell makes the best denim jackets, in my opinion, so seeing this on sale is rare and Jeans are size 26.
WRAP SWEATER – $52.90
If only this didn’t have wool…loved the cut, style and how flattering it was but the material was a hard no for me. Wearing a small.
FLEECE JACKET – $58.90
I got a nearly identical jacket to this last year in grey but preferred this year’s updated style that included a zipper! I’m in a medium in this photo but needed a small. Super cozy!!
TOP – $25.90 / JOGGERS – $25.90
Only had Mediums left in this set so that’s what I had to try on but super cozy! Would need smalls in the top & bottom. Perfect for lounging around the house & also comes in a grey-toned leopard print!
TANK – $25.90 / LEGGINGS – $42.90
The tank? Absolutely. The leggings? Awful. The material sucks, it’s super thin, and all I could see is cellulite on the back of my legs in these (and I feel like I don’t have much so that should tell you something)…but again, the tank. Worth it! Comes in 3 other colors & I’m in a XS.
ZELLA LEGGINGS – $38.90
Too hard to tell in the lighting but these are the green live-in leggings. I feel like these ran a bit small — usually I do the XS but preferred the fit of the small in them this year. These hug you in and keep their shape well.
PATAGONIA JACKET – $89.90
Can’t beat the price of this cozy zip-up. Unlike the pullover version included in the sale, this jacket runs TTS — I’m in the small. This color is a great neutral!
BAREFOOT DREAMS CARDIGAN – $76.90
I know it seems pricey for a cardigan, and it is, but it truly fits like a dream. I have 2 of them and do not regret the purchases at all. These things are legit the softest ever and so cozy for Midwest winters! Loved the wine color. Wearing the XS/S size and it fits perfect. (*Note: the arms in this style of Barefoot Dreams cardigans do run a bit tight)
PATAGONIA PULLOVER – $88.90
Wearing a small. Thought I’d like this, hated the feel. It’s hard to describe but basically it felt like it would catch if you had any dry skin. Also seemed to run oddly small!
TANK – $20.90
Great workout tank at a decent price-point. I could tell the material would be good for sweaty workouts and runs. Liked the size of the arm holes and the slight racer-back. Wearing a Small here and it was just a little too loose for me.
TANK – $20.90
Same tank as above but this is the XS. Definitely the size I prefer!
LEOPARD TEE – $15.90
Great lounge piece! It’s meant to be paired with THESE JOGGERS but they only had an XL so I didn’t bother to try them on. Tee is bouncy, lightweight and definitely would be comfy to wear around or even wear out! I’m in an XS.
NORTH FACE HOODIE – $48.90
Who doesn’t need another hoodie?! I’m in an XS in the purple haze-ish color but liked more room so I went up to a small. It is fairly thin so don’t expect this to keep you super warm!
KNEE HIGH BOOTS – $149.90
These have been a big seller! They’re roomy in the calf area but don’t seem like they’ll get too slouchy which is great! I’m wearing my usual size 8. The heel height seemed comfortable but I didn’t love the color — it was too ‘brown’ for what I have.
LEOPARD SLIDES – $54.90
Wanted these SO BADLY but they just hit the wrong spot on the top of my foot and I could tell they’d annoy me. Great quality and such a fun neutral. I would’ve sized down from my normal 8 to a 7.5 in these!
WOOL HAT – $58.90
If you don’t have a hat for Fall, this one is perfect! Also comes in black. I’m wearing a size Medium (yes, hats come in sizes) and I needed to order the small.
SUNGLASSES – $141.90
Round sunglasses are my favorite at the moment and these lucite frame ones were so cute on. I’m still debating on them!
