The 10 day forecast looks like a real buzzkill here in the central Midwest. So not cool. But what is cool? Monday Musings – Vol 28. That’s cool. And it’s also cool because it marks 2 weeks in a row back on track. Yay me! Seriously though, 7 days in a row with a 40+% chance of rain/storms. Not a fan. The temps? Ok, those I can absolutely get on board with. How was y’all’s weekends? Let’s just assume either fabulous or low-key. Because that’s what each of you deserve. On that note, I came across the above IG post last night and it resonated. Both with me a tons of you, based on the DM responses. So I’m re-sharing here because a) I believe it and b) some of you need to see it again today.

What got accomplished this weekend…

Lots and lots of flower shopping. And some more landscaping! FINALLY! We ended up finding what we were looking for (10 Dianthus plants) to line the front sidewalk. It was a longtime coming. And we LOVE how it turned out. But planting those 10 in basically the pouring rain yesterday was not so awesome. Thankfully Kyle is a good sport. And he obliges when I come up with ideas that we just have to have. So now we are a bit closer to being ‘done’ with the front yard! Also, I’d like to know if anyone is shocked my theme is shades of pink? Really different for me… 😉

Monday Musings - Vol 28

Trend I’ve been loving…

ALLLLL the ruffled blouses. Like basically every single one I see I think I need. Especially ones with small, dainty floral prints. And that is like the polar opposite of my typical style. But something about the extra-ness of the blouses I’m seeing lately has me hooked. So far I’ve been responsible with how many have ended up in my closet. Although it’s hard not to just hit ‘buy all’ to everything in my cart. The adorable  off-the-shoulder smocked top I wore this weekend was a MAJOR hit with y’all. Of course, it had to be sold out. Because that’s what typically happens. UGHHH. Luckily I found similar options HERE {use Kristin15 for 15% off}, HERE and HERE. Below I rounded up 10 favorites that I’d really like to magically appear on my doorstep!

This week’s fertility update…

Literally I have nothing for you. My next blood draw is Thursday at 8:00am. Please pray my HCG is back to 0. I’m ready for my body to get to reset itself and to start again. And I know a lot of people will think I’m crazy for that. But I feel the pull to go right back at it. We didn’t come this far to take a break. Or to give it a few months. So assuming our doctor gives the OK, we plan to start prep as soon as my cycle re-syncs. The last 2 transfers we did quietly. But after the two fails, I think I — with Kyle’s blessing — will be more open. Because you all are the praying type. And I think our 5 remaining embryos are going to need the extra prayers…

Random Ramblings…

  • I have a sweet tooth. Like I have to have a small piece of chocolate after dinner. And I always have room for dessert. So lately I’ve been saving some insane looking dessert recipes to try. These 3 are on my ‘to make ASAP’ list… Key Lime Pie Bars, Peanut Butter Brownies and these Carmelitas. They all look AMAZING.
  • Finished Ginny & Georgia this weekend. I give it 7/10 stars. The storyline was actually really good. Less so for the acting. But where it lost stars for me was the sex stuff. It’s one thing to have adult scenes but it’s SO WEIRD when it’s high school kids. Like ehhh. I hit ‘skip forward’ more than once. So take that feedback as you will. As soon as that was done, I started The Baker & the Beauty. Super cute so far!
  • Waterproof sandals have been a must here lately. Here are my 5 favorites:

  • Weekly Dinner Menu:
    • Meatless Monday – Spicy Black Bean Burgers + Sweet Potato Fries
    • Tuesday – Taco Bowls
    • Wednesday – Grilled Shrimp, Asparagus & Sweet Potatoes
    • Thursday – Stuffed Gnocchi w/ chicken, spinach and feta + Side Salads
    • Friday – Out (Blogger Event!)
    • Saturday – Iowa Taproom Dinner Date!
  • Peep Saturday’s dinner! Ahhh! We are finally being REUNITED with some of our BEST FRIENDS in Des Moines Saturday. To say I cannot wait is the understatement of the year… You can see below it’s been a while since we’ve been allowed to be together!
