A bright, sunshine-y day here in western Iowa brings you Monday Musings – Vol 30! Last week Kyle and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary. In typical low-key fashion of course. An early dinner, a bottle of Chardonnay and LOTS of dessert. So basically all of my favorite things. It feels like both a minute and forever since our wedding day. But I think that’s a good thing. We’ve been through A LOT, especially in regards to growing our family, but the love has only grown. This guy is the best of the best. And Papa knew it. They met in the Spring of 2008 in my dorm at Iowa State. Shook hands quick and said hi, that’s it. But apparently he left with my mom that day and said I’d marry him. Thank God he was right.

More about Saturday morning’s unlucky happening…

Lots of DMs about what exactly happened. Well the pictures show is basically it…we completely blew out the back driver’s side tire on my Fusion. Ironic because we actually talked about taking it in Friday to have 2 new tires put on the back. But on the bright side, at least we ruined a completely trashed tire and not a brand new one!

So Kyle was merging back into the right lane and hit something. It was so small he didn’t even realize it wasn’t just a patch of filled-in asphalt. Until it ricocheted underneath. He said ‘oh shit’ & we both looked at the dash. But the tire pressure light didn’t come on right away so we thought we were ok. LOL because 2 seconds later it came on as he watched the tire lose air in the side mirror. We only had like 4 miles until the next exit so that was our goal. But then  it completely blew down to the rim. So we pulled off on the interstate literally 1.5 miles from the exit. I’m just SO THANKFUL Kyle was driving because I couldn’t have handled it alone. My PTSD from my OKC accident is still strong.

For those asking why AAA sucked…your guess is as good as mine. Thankfully a friend grew up in the town we were just short of the exit from so I called her in hopes her dad was home. He was & he saved the day. Oh, and Kyle’s tire wrench wasn’t the wrong size like we initially thought. One of the bolts was so swollen that it took the tire technician’s drill & few choice words to pry it off. After almost 90 minutes we made it to Sioux City. And I now have 2 new tires. 🙂

Swimsuit shopping is the worst…

We’re heading up to Okoboji early Friday morning. And I’m still a few lbs. heavier than I’d like to be. Hormone fluctuations are SUPER fun. Said no one ever. But with that being said, I wanted at least 1 new high-waisted swimsuit to keep things in check. But like I also want my butt to be covered to an extent. HOLY CRAP is that basically an impossible combo. My options were cheekier and cheekiest it seems, and I’ve returned more options than I can count. Swimsuit try-ons at home are just as awful as in-person. Maybe worse. I can’t be the only one who doesn’t want 85% of their ass hanging out, right!? And my butt isn’t all that bad looking either! Yesterday I grabbed THIS TOP + THESE BOTTOMS, I have this top + these bottoms at home and I have THIS ONE arriving Wednesday. So best wishes to me!

What’s going on in our world of IVF…

Per usual, we’re waiting. If you didn’t see my IG stories from last Thursday, my HCG level finally dropped down to a 2. Which means NO MORE BLOOD DRAWS. Praise Jesus! It only took 5 weeks. All starting HERE. But now we wait again. This time for my period to come. It could take 2-4 weeks. And when it gets here I have to undergone more testing: bloodwork, a new sonohysterogram & whatever else my doctor decides to order. I’m also requesting a Receptive (endometrial) Biopsy. Just to ensure everything is truly ‘normal’ still. Whatever the hell normal means. Depending on the results of my thyroid panel, prolactin levels, the testing, etc. we will then work on a new plan for what is next. Glad this 2nd failed cycle chapter is closed. So ready to move forward. Prayer requests for patience & clarity would be much appreciated!
