Whether it is a leather skirt, a killer pair of heels, or maybe a fur coat, every girl has at least one item in her closet that has major ‘wow’ factor. {Sorry Kyle—I have all 3 of those…} As Christmas quickly approaches and we’re all finalizing our New Year’s Even plans, it’s inevitable that we’ll be scrambling—or will that just be me!?—for something unique and eye-catching to wear. While we tend to save those statement pieces for the big nights & events of the year, I’ve recently been saying ‘buhhh-bye’ to all fashion rules and attempting to step-up my weekday wardrobe with bolder choices and more unexpected elegance. Like Oscar Wilde said, “you can never be overdressed or overeducated” and I totally take that to heart. So enter THIS cropped, embroidered, swoon-worthy blazer ($72) that is absolutely perfect for bringing life to any day.
For my second Be Yourself look, I wanted to let my jacket take center stage so I paired it with a simple pair of slimming black skinnys ($41), a halter-style white blouse ($35), and basic black pumps. Because of the busy pattern of the jacket I kept my jewelry minimal, adding short-drop pearl earrings ($10) and a double-finger pearl ring ($12). There is so much versatility in this outfit, which makes it a keeper in my book. Pair the jacket with a black shift dress for a cocktail party, remove the jacket for a night out with girlfriends, or pair the top half with my flares from Monday’s post for a dinner date.
