Happy Friday, babes!

Where the heck did this week go!? I seriously cannot believe it is Friday. Yesterday I had my first major event at my new job and with the exception of a few tiny hiccups, everything went really smoothly. I love seeing hard work, time and effort come to fruition; and it definitely helps to hear positive feedback from the team and other attendees! 🙂 To wrap up {sad!} this week’s Fall/Back-to-School fun with Regency Court , I’ve teamed up with Francesca’s to show off the perfect transitional outfit. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the boutique and for good reason! They’re selection of cute dresses, trendy tops and fun accessories–among many other things–is so great and their price-points are friendly to just about every wallet. With 4 Francesca’s locations in the Omaha metro area keeping everyone stylish, you don’t have to drive too far to get your shopping fit. I am partial to the Regency location, however, because store manager Blair is a gem. And an Iowa State graduate. So that makes her twice as awesome! 😉

The outfit details…

When I went into the store to pull this look, Blair was super helpful in making my vision come to life. I knew I wanted to start with a basic dress to build an outfit around and she immediately pulled out this sleeveless chambray option. The material is super soft and lightweight and can easily be worn alone or with layers making it a great base piece. While bomber jackets were not her first love, she happily obliged me when I asked to see this adorable wine-colored satin jacket {available in green here}. I was immediately hooked on it and it ended up being the perfect way to bring a vivid Fall color into the mix as well as act as something to play off of when it came to accessories. Adding a lacey, blush bralette underneath that played peek-a-boo throughout this entire shoot was a fun way to add a little sex appeal and keep the entire look from being too youthful. To tie it all together, we went for a fun cognac heeled sandal–the peep-toe style, woven details & stacked heel are totally on-trend right now!–and some dainty jewels. This was just the right combination of dressy and casual for me!

Transitioning it all.

While today it’s overcast and only about 65*, the forecast is still showing plenty of 80+ degree days in our future. With that in mind, I plan to deconstruct this look a bit to match the current weather now. My next idea is to use the chambray dress as the focal point with a pair of tweed sneakers and a canvas tote for an outfit that would be perfect for the weekend Farmer’s Market. Once College Football season starts, I can totally rock an ISU Cyclones tank under the bomber jacket with destructed denim. Francesca’s also has some super team tees that would be great for tailgating as well! When Fall comes at us in full-force, I’ll wear the dress with a pair of OTK boots, cozy cardigan and a blanket scarf for trip to the Apple Orchard or Pumpkin Patch! My favorite pieces of clothing are ones that I can wear year-round and for multiple occasions and I’m confident everything here will be on repeat. 🙂
