The softest sweater to touch. No lie.

To be honest, I fell in love with this sweater before I even put it on. I was just getting ready to walk into the dressing room at Zara’s North Park Center Store in Dallas when this subtle, fluttery-sleeve beauty caught my eye. It was clearly not in the right spot but I felt inclined to feel it because it looked so soft. Immediately I knew I had to have it. It was a size Large but I didn’t care and took it in to try on. It was oversized, cozy and the sleeves totally sold me. Both my Mom and Kyle said it looked too big so I basically made a sales girl search for 20 minutes to find me a smaller size. I felt bad but it was one of those things I just kind of had to have {I could’ve done a small and had it fit TTS but I liked the slightly roomier fit of the medium so I went with it}. Convinced I’d be paying at least $50+ for it I instead felt like I won some secret lottery because the tag said $25.90. Uhmmm what?! Sold. Duh. Zara is kind of like this for me…one trip I’ll have a ton of success, walk out feeling fly and loving the brand and then the next 3 or 4 times I’m in I hate the way everything fits and am disappointed in their selection. I also find it fairly difficult to shop them online because the sizing can be so hit and miss too. After we finished shopping and got back to my parents, I looked up the sweater to send a link to a friend and realized it also came in a ballet slipper pink and black. So I did what any girl who has Christmas money burning a hole in her purse and ordered it in pink too. Because of course I need the same top in 2 very similar colors, right?!

Versatile pairings.

Dressed up or down this sweater can pull double-duty and then some. My first inclination was to pair it with dark denim and booties, pretty much how I style every sweater, but instead I went with my favorite black raw-hem jeans and mules. I love how the look is playful and feminine but also a little edgy with the distressed knees and gold hardware on the slides. Since being home I have gone with my original thoughts on how to wear the sweater but I’ve also worn it over a wine-colored pencil skirt to work with simple pumps. It makes a statement but it a subtle, unassuming way which is just how I prefer my go-to pieces to be.

What is everyone up to this weekend? Any big plans? I’m hoping to lay low, get some cleaning/organizing done and start a new book. Looking for book recommendations, too, so if you have any send them my way!!! xox
