Always a casual Friday around here!

Anyone else have kind of a blah week? I know ‘no one can dictate my mood‘ and all that jazz but for some reason this work week has just kind of been sucky and lame. Probably going to blame some of it on the fact that up until yesterday, we basically had 11 straight days of clouds/rain/wind and this girl needs a dose of Vitamin D regularly or you can just about count me out for errrrrrrrythang. But I put on my big girl pants today {white ones actually b/c YAY SPRING!} and am putting on a smile because the sun is FINALLY shining and in just a few hours it’ll be the freakin’ weekend. Oh and I just found out it’s National Beer Day. So you can bet that I’ll be enjoying a Grapefruit Shandy on the patio in a few short hours. Only one though, which is a kind of a letdown. The training calendar has a 12 miler on the docket for tomorrow AM so I think my legs would appreciate minimal alcohol consumption prior; and on that note, I’m also going ‘dry’ starting Sunday until Race Day just to make sure I’m properly hydrated and fueled since we have no idea what the weather will end up being like. Cannot believe Cassidy & I are only 16 days away from tackling this Half Marathon together and I’m just 14 days from heading to Ohio. Eeek! I’m beyond excited! 🙂

A little ‘extra’ added.

A grey top & white denim are less than a surprising outfit combo for me; I mean, I am the queen of neutrals I feel like. But with a little extra detailing on both this pleated top and these raw hem ankle jeans, the look is anything other than boring. When I first noticed the shirt on Shopbop’s website, I was hesitant that it would make me look heavy and frumpy but I ordered it anyway because the heathered color is one of my favorites. I am glad I took the chance because it is so much cuter in person and a lot more versatile than I expected. It can be dressed up for work with skinny pants & a blazer or front-tucked into a pair of cut-offs {just ordered THESE and can’t wait to try them!}. It does hide any problem areas which is nice but I prefer to balance out the billowy shape with a statement necklace and a slimmer bottom. Definitely the kind of mix I like: casual, comfy and cute! Now I’m off to finish up a few design projects in the office and hopefully sneak out a little early this afternoon for that cold beverage and to take advantage of some of this beautiful day! xox
