It’s 4th of July weekend!

I could not be more thankful for today being Friday! I’m sure most of you saw on social media last night that my sister & mother-in-law and myself had a really rough experience on I-35 late yesterday morning. Long story short, I was driving 75mph+ on the inside of 4 lanes of heavy traffic in downtown OKC when a truck merged lanes and threw up a large, shredded semi tire that slammed into our front windshield. Thankfully none of us were hurt! It shattered the rental car’s windshield {luckily most of the damage was on the passenger side so I could still see} and scared the crap out of all three of us. That image and sound has replayed in my mind only about 1,000x since it happened. Needless to say, I need a relaxing weekend after that. Our 4 days in Texas visiting my family were SO good though so I’m trying to focus on the positives rather than the incident. I did want to say THANK YOU so much to all of you who reached out with kind words, prayers, etc., it meant a lot!

Red, white & blue done differently.

Alright, now onto the reason for the post! Today is the final day of the Style Collective Summer Style Challenge. I’ve had so much fun participating and I think we’re ending the week on the most perfect theme: Red, White & Blue/4th of July style. I did a recap last week {seen here} on outfit ideas for the 4th that didn’t involve an overly blatant display of Patriotism so I kept with that mindset and created this fun look. This lace mini I picked up last Fall during a Shopbop sale so it’s no longer available, but there are so many similar options out there right now like this one, this one, and this one. I think it’s perfect for nearly any occasion and while it is super simple, the lace detailing and split sleeve give it a little wow factor! These absolutely adorable red tassel sandals have been on repeat since I ordered them and I love how they really pop against the white background. Usually I would throw on a pair of wedges with a mini like this but I went for comfort this time. 😉 My red-hued aviators and blue bag round out this look that would be great for just about any party or event you may end up attending over the next few days!

Hoping everyone has FABULOUS & SAFE 4th of July celebrations this weekend and everyone enjoys and extra day ‘off.’ <3
