#1 Bloody Marys

All the praise hands for the miracles that Bloody Marys seem to perform. I don’t know about y’all but I loveee myself an extra spicy bloody. Like the spicier, the better. Actually, just hand me a bottle of Tobasco and I’ll continue to turn my glass into a fire-breathing dragon. This weekend I’m heading to Iowa City for the Iowa State vs. Iowa game and I couldn’t {ok, I could} be more excited. Unlike my usual tailgating shenanigans with friends, this one will be extra interesting…it’s a corporate-sponsored outing, however we’re taking an XL Party Bus equip with a 3000watt speaker system and 2 stripper poles, so you can see how buttoned-up it will be. Regardless, the bus leaves for IC at 11am and that is just much too early for anything alcoholic for me–unless I’m on a beach and Iowa is clearly NOT a beach. Enter the Bloody Mary…this beverage will be my choice {along w/ my bottle of Veuve & some Simply Orange} for the ride there. We’ll be using the world’s purest vodka, IngeniOz, that one of my co-worker’s dad developed and I’ll use my go-to recipe found HERE.

#2 The Number 3

My number in high school sports has taken on an entirely new meaning for me lately…everything I’ve been doing fitness-wise has been done in 3s for the past month. I’m not entirely sure WHY but I realized it over the weekend and wondered why. I’ve been running 3 miles at a time when I hop on the treadmill in the basement, go through 3 ab/arm/leg circuits at a time and do yoga 3x/week. I’m not superstitious by any means but doing things in 3s has really work for me recently. Maybe 2 miles or 2 rounds of something isn’t enough and 4 is a bit too much to knock out in a short period of time, but whatever the reason may be, I had to share. Just further proof I’m weird!

#3 Open-toe Booties

With the weather shifting to somewhat cooler temps, I’m tempted to break out my favorite Fall boots but before I get ahead of myself I need to remember that it could just as easily get up to 90* tomorrow as it could be as cool as 60*. Enter my love and need more more open-toe booties. They’re truly the perfect transitional footwear and can be dressed up or dressed down, made to appear professional or can be worn to a tailgate {assuming your tailgate spot is on concrete & not uneven grass 😉 }. I have come across so many adorable options that I’m not sure where to start OR stop. My favorite pair of open-toed beauties from last Fall were these Toms but after going through one too many elements, they didn’t make it out for a round 2. So the loss of those has me debating between replacing them with the exact pair–since they’re insanely comfortable–or wondering if I need to move on and try a few others. Right now I’m eyeing THESE, THESE {obsessed with the fringe}, THESE & THESE. Thoughts?!
