Last Wednesday I did a survey in my IG stories {HUGE thanks to those who participated!}. One of the questions was ‘what is 1 thing bloggers/influencers do that annoys you.’ Lets just say some of you responded with more than 1… 😉 Y’all had me cracking up. SO MANY blogger annoyances. Legit laughing out loud to a bunch of them. On top of some great responses, I had quite a few fellow influencers DM me saying they couldn’t wait to hear the results. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did!

Hey friends, just hopping on to share this amazing item that’s only $312 and you like really really need it too!

I’ll share a few screenshots with actual responses but there were over 200 in total, so I went through and found the top 10. These were repeated multiple times! The one ranking #1 for blogger annoyances had 36 people mention it. So fellow blogger/influencer friends : WE HAVE TO STOP THIS NONSENSE. It’s for the good of the people mmmmk.

#10 – Sharing overly expensive items, not understanding what their followers can afford OR are willing to pay.

From a few of my other survey questions it looks like under $50, with some exceptions, is the ideal price point for at least my followers. I’m assuming it’s probably similar across most 🙂

#9 – Stories that ramble on and on about nothing.

Followers want stories but say they hate: constant ‘swipe to shop,’ using lots of filters, talking AT them not TO them, only showing the ‘perfect’ and not the ‘real.’

#8 – Videos of skin care routines.

The consensus was if you share what you use, fine, but no one is interested in watching you literally just wash and put lotion on your face in a poorly lit bathroom. I whole-heartedly agree with the people who said this!

#7 – When they say ‘sooo many of you have been asking…’

Apparently everyone just assumes maybe a few have asked and instead the influencer just wants to give you a link to buy from.

#6 – Reels. Specifically ‘jumping’ into new outfits.

I mean I 196% agree so this made me happy. You won’t see any of those on my account, not now and not ever. I’m too old for that. Luckily lots of you said you despise them so I’m claiming y’all as my reason to avoid them.

#5 – Fake/whiny voices and asking followers to ‘please come like x post to help the algorithm.’

Multiple people mentioned if they like you, they’ll either a) search for you if they haven’t seen you in a while or b) don’t always ‘like’ a photo but it doesn’t mean they didn’t like it.

#4 – Accounts that are overly filled with ‘sponsored’ or ‘ad’ content.

Mentions specifically of items that don’t make sense for someone to be promoting…like someone who always posts photos with straight hair showing a sponsored post for a wave iron.

#3 – Obnoxiously posed/photoshopped/filtered photos.

Awkward butt-focused, hip-turned mirror selfies were mentioned along with the infamous blogger leg pop & hand-in-the-air. Sorry y’all, I’m guilty in 9/10 photos of the leg or hair thing. People said they hate when you can clearly tell things have been retouched or colors are distorted.

#2 – Large, loop giveaways. Having to follow 20+ people to have a .00002% chance of winning an item.

I mean this is self-explanatory. Repeated by 33 people. A few mentioned they straight up unfollow someone who does more than a giveaway every once in a while.

#1 – When ‘influencers’ act like they ‘discovered’ a product/brand/etc. that every other ‘influencer’ is sharing.

Tula was a common one referenced. {Side note: my first Tula order was placed on December 17, 2016 & I have the receipt to prove it sooo I’d like to toot my own horn and say I’ve been using the brand since before they were ‘cool’ LOLZ} Basically people want to see you own up if you saw an idea somewhere and give credit when/where it’s due. All I have to say is YES.
