Monday, I am not a big fan.

It’s just a few hours into Monday and I’m already starting my countdown to the weekend. I know, shame on me for wishing time away, but I’m still exhausted from a whirlwind weekend. Cassidy & Josh’s wedding on Friday evening was absolutely stunning {more to come on that in Friday’s post!}. A lot of great family time combined with too many hours in a vehicle made for one tired girl this morning when my alarm went off. I hope everyone had equally as awesome of a weekend as we did and that you all are ready to conquer this first full week in June! Now lets talk some style…

My maroon maxi is here to brighten the day!

This gorgeous maxi dress is my third and final look from my collaboration with Tobi. Despite loving my first two looks {seen here & here}, I feel like I’ve saved the best–and my favorite–for last. It’s well known that I’m not tall by anyone’s standards which makes finding maxi dresses quite the challenge. I hate being overwhelmed with an abundance of extra fabric and I’m clearly not a fan of ruining any article of clothing on purpose so I skip right over things that exceed 58″ in length. That threshold is right about the maximum that I can handle without being forced to put on a shoe with some height and unless I’m planning, from the start, to wear a piece with a heel I don’t like not having a choice. This particular maxi instantly caught my eye because of its deep and vibrant shade but I was hesitant to pull the trigger because it exceeded my length requirements. I’m so glad I went with my gut and picked it out anyway because with a bit of help from a belt at the waist, the dress is totally perfect.

Asymmetrical sides & a double vee bring an edgy appeal.

Instead of being just your typical maxi, this dress takes it up a notch with the high-slit sides and the daring front & back details. Both are aspects I sincerely adore. They modernize an otherwise simple silhouette and bring interest to a basic fabric. My only negative feels towards this fun closet addition is that it seems to wrinkle quite easily and quite quickly. Not a deal breaker in my opinion but definitely something to take note of if you’re planning to wear it somewhere a bit more formal. While I decided to belt it and add gladiator sandals for a late Sunday afternoon of ice cream and wandering, I also plan to utilize the dress by itself as a swimsuit cover-up. If you want to dress it up a bit, it would look super darling in its black counterpart with this belt and these fun sandals.

If you haven’t taken advantage of 50% off your first order with Tobi, I suggest heading over to their website to do so right now!!! They have such a great inventory ranging from maxi dresses and jumpsuits to blouses and sweaters.
